Granny Square Course "how to" videos for Left Handers
All videos are in UK crochet terms.
Left handed videos have been flipped horizontally - when you hear "right hand" in the voiceover, please swap it for "left hand" and vice versa.

The following videos show how to make granny squares we are learning to make on the Granny Square Course - in the order we are learning them:
1. The Classic Granny Square
2. The Popcorn Granny Square - rounds 1 to 4
3. The Stripey Granny Square
Please see Popcorn Granny Square Round 2 video for an explanation of how to join a new yarn in a new round (whatever kind of granny square you are making).
N.B. If you are making a large square (or you are finding your square is becoming less "square") you may wish to flip your square and work rounds on the opposite side every so often.

Classic Granny Square
Video showing how to make the Classic Granny SquareWhist this video shows a clearly defined granny square with three chains in the corners and 1 chain between the corners and the middle spaces - for crocheters with looser tension, I recommend the following:
do 2 chains in the corners and NO chains between the corners and the middle spaces.
Also - make your beginning loop only 4 chains long instead of 6 chains. -

Popcorn Granny Square Round 4 - this is the final round
Video showing how to make Round 4 (final round) of the Popcorn Granny SquareThis video shows how to make the fourth round (final round) of a popcorn granny square. It is made up of groups of trebles, not popcorns!
-
Stripey Granny Square
Video showing how to make 4 rounds of a Stripey Granny SquareThis video shows how to make rounds 1 - 4 of a Stripey Granny Square. You can continue to make more rounds in exactly the same way - all that changes is the number of trebles on each side of each round. The corners are always 2 tr, 2 ch, 2 tr and to join end of the round to the beginning you always make a htr in the top of the ch-3.
PLEASE NOTE: In the beginning of the video it should say "make a slipknot", not make a slipstitch! Just checking if you're awake!
